Job Descriptions
Timers
Times individual and relay events using a stopwatch and
records times on the heat card. Stopwatch, pencil and clipboard
provided by hosting team.
Runner
Picks up the heat cards from the timers and brings them to the scoring table
Scorer
There
are different positions at this place. One person reads results, one
inputs the results into the computer and at away meets you read or
check cards against a print out. (It isn’t hard we will train before if
willing to input
Concessions
Assists in serving
donut/bagels, coffee, pop and other goodies during the home meets.
First shift helps with set up last shift stays for clean up.
Stroke Judge
Watches
the swimmers and determines that the correct strokes are being used
(requires training through the league - it isn’t the Olympics but we
are just trying to keep the meet fair and teach the swimmer)
Staging
Helps to organize the swimmers in the heating area prior to the events
Cards
Places the heat cards on event boards and readies the swimmers for the coming events by helping staging find swimmers
Tent Set up and Take down
Tent Set up:

For away meets your job is to get the key to the storage area at pool.
Pick up a list of equipment to bring to the meet, deliver it by 6:30 am
and set it up at away meets.
· For Home meets you need to
come to the pool at 7:00 pm on Friday and help with set up of the
pool. Also help at 7:00 am to set up tent.
Tent take down:

For home meets helps take down tent and clean up pool area. Placing
chairs and the tables back to their original spot. Putting all
equipment away.
· For away meets you need to take down the
tents. Get pool storage keys from set up and bring tents, and all other
equipment back to the pool storage area at Homestead Farm pool.
Both jobs require one person to have access to a van or some large vehicle able to carry the stuff.
Cook
Prepares the grill and cooks burgers and hot dogs during the meet. First person starts the grill, the last cook cleans it.
Burrito Cooks
The
night before a home meet make a number of burritos following the
directions of the Concession chair. It takes about two hours to make
these, but it is done at your home.
