Frequently Asked Questions
1. If my child can't make a meet do I have to inform anyone?
The coaches work hard in planning our meets so everyone swims and to try to give us the most points. It is very important in their planning if they know by Tuesday before the meet who will not be there or if you are leaving early. Relays are important to the success of the meet and it is very disappointing for a kid who has waited to find out someone didn't show. Emergencies and illness do happen so let the coaches know as soon as possible. But for those routine vacations, baseball games, lacrosse and family visits est.
PLEASE let the coaches know via an e/m :

2. How are the meets scored?
| Place | Individual Events | Relay Events |
| 1st | 5 points | 8 points |
| 2nd | 3 points | 4 points |
| 3rd | 1 point | 2 points |
You will notice that 2nd and 3rd don't add up to 1st place.
Generally speaking the more swimmers we have the more points we get.
Relays are very important because they are worth more in each place.
If a swimmer is DQed they earn no points.
Everyone swims for points but only the top three places earn them
3. Are all the pools the same size and if my child only swims in a Yard pool how did they get a meter time for Prelims?

5. What is the weather Policy for canceling practice.
There is an official temperature stated by RMSL click here for the weather policy. We follow it but also leave it up to coaches discretion.
If there is no water practice they will if weather allows (it is not raining) have dry land work out.
You as a parent know your child best if you feel it is too cold don't send them.
